Conde Nast Traveler has an "insider's" cover story on Rome.

I was walking past the newsstand and what did I see?

I'm curious with the exchange rate being so awful will fewer Americans travel to Europe in '08? I was very surprised at how crowded Venice during low season.

I still have jet lag. I keep getting up at 4:00 a.m. and by 8:00 p.m. I can barely keep my eyes open. I want to read the article, then will call it a night.

Hmmm---interesting question. Hubbs and I are planning to go to France next December. I definitely think the exchange rates will make travel more difficult. People may still go, but not stay as long.

BTW--I couldn't see the pics in the last post either. I did see them on Flickr though. Beautiful!

I don't think anyone would actually postpone a trip until the dollar gets better. I think there will be just as many tourists next year-- only carrying less shopping bags!

So true... Italy is Italy. Most will still go -just stretch that dollar a bit more, cut down on the espressos, but go nonetheless :)

Ciao bella!

kreative mix - ciao, thanks for stopping by my blog. Glad you had a nice trip.

dmarie - good point. Thanks for the compliment.

dmb - there were some many things I saw that I wanted to buy but did not. Even getting my VAT tax back made shopping too pricey.

roam 2 rome - true...I do hope the dollar has hit rock bottom and starts climbing back up after the New Year.
